Can't find software and drivers for your scanner/OS version? I use it for my LS-8000. SilverFast is an alternative and an enhancement, that introduces a lot of new and valuable features for Nikon scanners. Want to use my Nikon Coolscan II (LS 20) until I can afford a new slide scanner. They're all over ebay for less than $20.

Otherwise, I think that Vuescan software will work in OSX. I found the Nikontech site and indeed it is the Adaptec 2906 (the 2903B works too, but that's probably an earlier, unavailable model).
